Rakaia Friction Channel is suitable for deck and balcony barriers, NZS 8500 Safety barriers and fences around swimming pools, spas and hot tubs, internal stairways or landings and can be fixed to timber (including waterproof decks), concrete, and steel. 

Suitable for:

• Residential and light commercial applications
• Tested and compliant to Occupancies A,B,E and C3.
• Up to Extra High wind zones
• Face/side mounted

• Must be installed according to the BelAire instruction guides and recommended practices
• In coastal areas (0.5km from sea) contact BelAire for advice and powdercoating options
• Minimum 25MPa — Minimum 190mm thick concrete
• Minimum SG8 timber — 100mm thread penetration into timber — minimum 40mm edge distance.
• All proprietary products including anchors must be installed in strict order with manufacturer procedures
• BelAire glass is not compliant with Occupancy areas such as C5 (Areas susceptible to over-crowding) or D (Retail areas)

• B1: The BelAire glass system uses the A Grade toughened glass to comply and make the system safe even if a panel is broken the glass is designed to break into millions of pieces leaving no dangerous shards of glass that could cause physical damage.
• B2: The BelAire glass system has a 50 year life expectancy. 
• F2.3.3: Glass which people are likely to come into contact will break in a way which is unlikely to cause injury to any person.
• F4.3.4: BelAire Glass Complies with the following:
  Barriers shall:
  
  • be continuous and extend for the full extent of the hazard,
  • be of appropriate height,
  • be constructed with adequate rigidity,
  • be constructed to prevent people from falling through them.
• F9.2: BelAire Glass will provide restricted access to pool areas. Residential pools with a maximum depth of water of 400 mm or more that are filled or partly filled with water must have means of restricting access that prevents unsupervised access by a child under 5 years of age.
