LEXAN THERMOCLICK Glazing System
Description

Lexan™ Thermoclick™ is a 40mm multi-wall, X-structure sheet with profiled tongue and groove connection, used in facade applications. It is impact resistant, energy-saving, and with UV protection, making it suitable for use in severe weather conditions.

The interconnecting system eliminates the need for vertical profiles, potentially saving costs and enhancing building aesthetics. The X–structure of the sheet provides exceptional stiffness and thermal insulation.

Lexan™ Thermoclick™ combines a high level of mechanical, optical and thermal properties. When extruded in multi-wall sheet form, its optical and impact properties in particular render this material a strong candidate for a wide range of glazing applications.

Scope of Use
  • Flat profiled roofing
  • Glazing for facades
  • Capable of withstanding the extremes of weather — storms, hailstones, snowfall and ice formation
  • Interconnection system eliminates the need for vertical profiles — potentiallly saving costs and enhancing building aesthetics
Limitations on Use
  • The UV protected surface, indicated on the masking, should always face outwards
  • On most sloped roofing applications a minimum fall of 10º is advised to allow for rainwater drainage
  • Lexan Thermoclick sheet has a continuous use temperature rating of -40°C up to +100°C.
  • Lexan Thermoclick sheet should be stored and protected against atmospheric influences like sun, rain, etc. Care should be exercised when handling and transporting Lexan Thermoclick sheet in order to prevent scratches on the panel surface and damage to the panel edges.
  • In extremely dusty environments such as sawmills, welding stations, etc., it is usually advisable to seal both the top and bottom channel ends with an impermeable tape.
  • Thermal expansion allowance of approximately 3 mm per linear meter between panel top edge and top glazing profile platform, and between the first and last panel side and side glazing profile platform.
Statement of Building Code Compliance
  • Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1
  • Clause C3 Fire affecting areas beyond the fire source: Buildings C3.3
  • Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.1, E2.3.2
  • Clause G7 Natural Light
Other Performance Attributes
  • Thermal insulation — the sheet multi-wall structure offers potential advantages where thermal insulation is a major consideration. The amount of energy transmitted through the sheet per square metre and per degree temperature difference referred to as the U-Value, is only 1.27 W/m²K.
  • Fire Test Performance — achieved an Internal Surface Finish Group number of 1-S according to performance determined under the conditions described in ISO 9705:1993 required by NZBC clause C3.4(A). Performance is achieved through MBIE Guidance on European Classification.
  • Impact strength — has outstanding impact performance over a wide temperature range of -40ºC up to +100ºC. The product is capable of withstanding the extremes of weather — storms, hailstones, snowfall and ice formation.
  • UV protection — has a proprietary UV protected surface to help protect the system against the degrading effects of ultra violet radiation and promotes long-term optical quality under all kinds of severe weather conditions.
  • 10 year light transmission warranty
