Grant Jenkins of de Lisle Jenkins Architects says he had no hesitation specifying Resco’s Storm toilet cubicles and Multicom wall panelling for the toilets that are part of the new junior school building. “Resco Compact Laminate has been our ‘go to’ for years,” says Grant. “It is robust and requires minimal maintenance; it is Compact Laminate that is the preferred option for a lot of our clients providing high use facilities.”
Southwell School in Hamilton is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for Years 1-8. The new building, completed in March this year, is for the junior pupils. It can take around 150 students and features a central multipurpose space which all six classrooms have direct access to via large doors. The toilets are accessible from outside via a covered walkway, so they can be used during break time and class time.
Southwell business manager Julie Walters emphasises the school has a firm policy of “building to last” and this is clearly understood by de Lisle Jenkins Architects. Says Julie: “Therefore we rely on them to recommend and provide us with the best quality materials and products that are going to be durable and provide long-term value for money.”
Resco product specialist Troy Henriques says the Storm cubicle system is the strongest offered. “Using this system with our Multicom wall panelling, as Southwell have done, makes the rooms a complete space that can cope with the knocks of a school environment. Additionally, the Antibac surfaces on the Storm cubicles and Multicom walls add the antimicrobial benefits creating cleaner, safer and more hygienic spaces.”
