IBuilt MultiStrut Joists just got better
MultiStrut is a core component of IBuilt’s midfloor system. Lightweight and end-trimmable, IBuilt MultiStrut Joists offer a more efficient way to build new homes. Now, MultiStrut has been simplified to a single, trimmable block, reducing on-site waste and speeding up installation.
More efficient builds
The MultiStrut’s open webbing allows access to run pipes, cabling, and other services. It’s lighter than solid timber or LVL, and the 90mm flange width provides a large area for flooring fixing.
Span lengths up to 6m
Offering more predictable performance and dimensional stability than sawn timber, MultiStrut Joists are available in 240 and 300mm depths and can clear span up to 5.4m and 6.0m, respectively. In some cases, this means builds require fewer beams than in a standard floor system.
A professional's perspective
“There’s so much space. You can run all the pipes, cabling, and wires anywhere you want without having to drill," says Brent McMillan, Construction Manager, Generation Homes. "It just makes things so much easier. It’s a really good way to keep jobs moving forward when supply issues come up. It’s easy to manoeuvre around the site. That makes the job quicker and easier for the builder. NZWOOD is great. It’s been seamless with IBuilt.”
