Made in part from sustainably produced plant fibres, Dupont Sorona combines sustainability and high performance.
Producing Sorona uses 30% less energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 63% compared to producing an equal amount of nylon 6. When compared to an equal amount of nylon 6,6, producing Sorona uses 40% less energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 56%. What's more, no additional chemical treatments are used for stain resistance.
Sorona offers permanent stain resistance that is built right into the fibre. Even tough stains like mustard, tomato sauce, coffee and red wine will not penetrate carpets made with Sorona. Unlike sprayed-on stain resistant treatments used on other fibres, Sorona’s permanent stain resistance is part of the DNA of the fibre, meaning the stain resistance will never wash off or wear away and carpets will look like new for years to come. Carpets made with Sorona are bleach-and UV-resistant to reduce fading.
Carpets made with DuPont Sorona are incredibly durable and resist matting because the fibres are crush-resistant and retain their shape and texture step after step, year after year.
In today’s commercial spaces, good looks are is simply not enough; sustainable Sorona will help designers and architects achieve environmental credits with their projects.
