What is ThermalCrete?
ThermalCrete is a lightweight, crack resistant panel used as a substrate for exterior plaster cladding on a 20mm or 45mm cavity, providing a fully insulated, drained, weather-resistant barrier for residential and commercial construction.
ThermalCrete has held CodeMark Certificate since 2013 and complies with B1 Structure and B2 Durability of the NZ Building Code.
Masons decided to obtain the CodeMark certification as it provides comprehensive appraisal with legal standing. CodeMark gives specifiers the reassurance that the product and system meet the highest possible standards. It also eases the process of gaining consent through council.
Masons' extensive detailing in conjunction with the CodeMark certificate makes it easy to specify ThermalCrete and gain consent.
Strength
The outer calcium silicate boards are made of cement and lime and have a strength rating of 14Mpa. The core consists of 41mm thick cement with 3 — 5mm diameter eps beads. Water Resistance
ThermalCrete is a tough, durable and water-resistant substrate.
With water absorption of only 3.2%, it excels over its counterpart AAC* that has a rating of 24 — 35% water absorption. ThermalCrete meets the NZ Building Code for Section E2 — External Moisture.
TIP: For total security, use Masons Acrylic non-crack plaster; FLX to ensure that the building is kept absolutely watertight.

Masons are the only company in NZ to supply the full product range from building wrap to a painted plaster system to keep frames dry.
