Escea Provides Flexible Design Options for Gas Fireplaces

Escea's innovative features have changed the way gas fireplaces fit into home designs. Gas fires were typically technically difficult and caused structural problems, resulting in the gas log fires dictating the architectural designs. Escea identified this problem and decided they needed to focus on how their fires could complement the design process rather than restrict it.

The Zero Clearance and flexible flue technologies allow for these fireplaces to be very versatile, especially when it comes to deciding on a location within the room or even being a bit creative.

The wall structure and coverings (such as wallpapers) and the location of the fireplace are not an issue when it comes to installing a gas fireplace. Zero Clearance means that no clearance is needed between the fireplace and combustible materials such as timber. Therefore, fireproof materials are a thing of the past, as it eliminates the need for expensive fire-rated structures. This also means that fireplaces can be placed under windows or televisions, as the firebox does not overheat like gas fires of the past.

Secondly, Escea's flexible flue technology makes sure the location of the gas log fire does not have to be limited to an outside wall. Escea uses a Powered Direct Vent flue, on both the DL Series and the DX Series, which allows for both horizontal and vertical flue runs. The Powered Direct Vent flue can be run underfloor and terminated on either an outside wall or the roof to give users more design freedom. The Polypro flue extensions can run up to 12 metres which opens up multiple options for where to place it within a room — imagine a fireplace island. The key is the externally mounted fan which draws the exhaust air outside to allow for these alternative styles of flue runs.

The DX1500 Multi-room gas fireplace is a Zero Clearance fire which is ideal for creative surrounds. It can be kept frameless and paired with a stone wall or leather wallpaper. This fireplace is extremely efficient in terms of clean burning and output with 10.4kW of heat and 4.3 Energy Stars, thanks to the extremely efficient flue system. As a double sided, see-through fireplace, being able to place the DX1500 into a joining wall as a feature for both rooms is a stand out element, and will be that added wow-factor.
