Pull-Out Shelf Lock Transforms a Shelf into a Work Surface

Benches are essential, but they take up a lot of real estate. Pull-out shelving can add a flat surface to a crowded area. Unfortunately, a simple shelf mounted on runners isn’t stable enough to provide a useful work surface.

So Blum — the hardware experts — invented a simple locking mechanism

Designed to work with the MOVENTO runner system, the Pull-Out Shelf Lock is a lock-open stop that clicks into place at full extension. It stays there until released with a hand-activated mechanism.

As a result, designers can easily add working surfaces when space is constrained. So a laundry area can be enhanced with a pull-out shelf to hold washing baskets at waist height. A home office can be made more functional with lockable shelving that’s pulled out whenever more desk space is required. Tiny kitchens can be enhanced with practical pull-out shelves. The possibilities are limitless.

The Pull-Out Shelf Lock is discreet, taking up very little space. Blum has found a way to create new work surfaces around the home (and home office) without extending the footprint of the cabinetry.
