The self-latching sliding door lock, which comes with Urbo or Elemental sliding door furniture, is especially suitable for elderly people who can latch doors easily, especially where two panels meet in a bi-parting slider configuration. Automatic latching means that users do not have to hold panels together and then operate the latch separately.

In the picture shown, the Urbo handle swivels downwards to slide the door closed and self latches in the adjoining door stile or jamb. The door can then be deadlocked by key or turn.
