Prefabricated Homes to be Showcased at Canterbury Housing Innovation Park

The ideal site has been located at the Canterbury Agricultural Park on Curletts Road. A number of teams have come on board to exhibit their homes, including:

  • Lockwood Homes (Hornby)
  • Black Hut
  • Vicus – Passive House

The Innovation Park will be open to the public and industry alike – opening weekend is proposed for mid-February 2012. There will be a second stage scheduled for later 2012 to make a total of 10 houses at the site.

This project is assisted by a number of partners, including:

  • Meridian Energy Ltd and SolarCity (solar-panel electricity generation)
  • Octa Associates Ltd (project management in Christchurch)
  • Portabuild (toilets)
  • Gardenmakers (landscaping supplies)
  • Anthony Harper lawyers (legal assistance)
  • NZ Green Building Council (NZGBC’s Homestar)
  • Lifetime Design Ltd (Lifemark)
  • Signtech (signage)
  • Marlborough Snug (site office)
  • Go 2 Events (event management)

The list of partners is growing and PrefabNZ are actively looking for assistance with some of the final detail.   Email [email protected] if you are interested in being involved with this project.
