Designed for large-scale commercial projects with a residential application.

Key Features
  • Strength — At 2.2mm thick 6063T5 Aluminium Alloy with a high tensile and rigidity properties, AliClad Max has excellent impact resistance, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as schools. Improved rigidity over other systems comes from its depth and structure.
  • Mechanical drainage — With no tapes or sealants, AliClad Max has a true mechanical system drainage for improved weather-tightness.
  • State-of-the-art coating — A state-of-the-art coating line provides both colour and woodgrain options, with a 20-year guarantee.
  • Coated in New Zealand — Because it is coated locally, designers can choose from an extensive range of colours and wood finishes, with reduced lead times. Custom and corporate colours are also available
  • Finish and aesthetics: Flat and matt powdercoat options, anodised-look paint finishes, sublimated woodgrains, and horizontal and vertical profile alignments achieve both classic and contemporary designs.

Scope of Use
  • The AliClad Max system is designed for very high wind loadings and is designed to be fixed at maximum span distances for reduced project costs. Seismic tested in accordance with AS/NZS 4284:2008 to +/-5.5 kPa.
  • AliClad Max has been verified with a full scale wall assembly fire test BS8414-2:2015+A1:2017 - BR 135 Annex B2013.
  • At 2.2mm thick 6063T5 Aluminium Alloy with a high tensile and rigidity properties, AliClad Max has excellent impact resistance, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as schools. Improved rigidity over other systems comes from its depth and structure.
  • AliClad Max comes with a full assembly kit. It can interface easily with other façade systems, giving designers flexibility. The design of the system also gives builders the option to install the windows either before or after the cladding goes on.
Limitations on Use
  • Where the building has a building height greater than 10 m and the upper floors contain sleeping uses or other property, the specification of the external wall must be in accordance with the BS8414-2:2015+A1:2017 — BR 135 Annex B2013 fire tested assembly. Refer to BRANZ FF13923-02-1-C1.
  • A drained and ventilated cavity is mandatory unless the building is unlined or Importance Level 1 (as defined in AS/NZS 1170). A flexible or rigid building underlay and fixings must meet the performance characteristics in Table 23, E2/AS1.
  • Where the wind zone exceeds very high as defined in NZS 3604:2011 or 1.5kPa, a rigid underlay must be installed.
  • The building must have a risk score of less than or equal to 20 when evaluated against the E2/AS1 risk matrix. Where the risk score exceeds 20, specific design and detailing for structure and weather-tightness is required.
  • Where the external wall is within 1m of the relevant boundary, the specification of the external wall must be in accordance with the BS8414-2:2015+A1:2017 - BR 135 Annex B2013 full scale wall fire tested assembly. Refer to BRANZ FF13923-02-1-C1.
  • A thermal break with an R-value of not less than 0.25 is required when used with lightweight steel framing.
  • Where adverse microclimatic conditions apply (refer to paragraph 4.2.4 of NZS 3604:2011), contact The Building Agency for technical advice.
  • The aluminium joinery must comply with NZS 4211.
Statement of Building Code Compliance
  • Weather-tightness: The system has been designed in line with NZBC. It has been tested to be compliant with AS/NZS4284: 2008.
  • Structure: The AliClad Max system is designed for very high wind loadings and engineered to be fixed at maximum span distances for reduced project costs. Seismic tested in accordance with AS/NZS 4284:2008 to +/-5.5 kPa.
  • Fire Protection: Aluminium is non-combustible under the NZBC and the support system has a limited / non-combustible wall assembly and has been tested for full-scale system fire performance to BS8414-2:2015+A1:2017 (BR135 Annex B 2013).
