PDL Iconic Wins Gold Award at the 2017 Best Design Awards

The Best Design Awards are an annual showcase of excellence in graphic, spatial, product, interactive and user experience, run by the Designers’ Institute of New Zealand. The event is New Zealand’s most prestigious award for design and innovation with a proud history dating back to 1997.

After an extensive evaluation process, the jury finalised their results and only the top entry in each category received a Gold Design Award, including the PDL Iconic range for top consumer product.

Judges' comments about PDL Iconic included “Its seamless attention to detail, Lego-like ease of installation and user flexibility combined with impeccable production values made the Iconic series a winner in the judge’s eyes."

“The system is aesthetically restrained and quietly elegant in a category where innovation and trade acceptance require powerful creativity and switched-on user insight.”

On receiving the prestigious design award for PDL Iconic, Ray Dunn, Executive General Manager of Schneider Electric New Zealand said: “We’re honoured to receive a Best Design Award for PDL Iconic. This is a considered design with both style and efficiency at its heart. The products are a great example of what professional design can bring to a crowded market segment. The detailed design touches have resulted in a clean, modern and highly functional aesthetic."

“The PDL Iconic range proves that home electrical can be design savvy and we’re so pleased to see our PDL Iconic range receiving recognition as best in class."

The recognition comes in a significant year for the PDL by Schneider Electric brand, as it celebrates its 80th birthday, and continues to show both trade and home owners that it is a market leader in the home electrical space, and focused on quality design and innovative solutions for the future.
