Uniflex Plus Compact Ducting System
Description

Uniflex Plus is a highly flexible and modular ducting/ air distribution system for home ventilation. Using its unique click system, Uniflex Plus is a flexible and compact alternative to traditional ducting, perfect for applications in tight spaces.

It is similar to semi-rigid ducting but has a smaller form factor and is easier to install.

Key Features
  • A compact and modular solution to move air from one location to another
  • Quick and easy installation that enables installers to cope with unexpected circumstances
  • Click based connection system with no need for tape or glue
  • Limited number of components required
  • Ideal for installation with heat recovery ventilation systems
  • Great for new builds or renovations
  • Suitable to replace traditional or flat channel ducting
  • Integrated (and easy to clean) facias
  • Safe to bury — made with physiologically and toxicologically harmless PE and PP and treated with antistatic and antibacterial materials
  • Two available sizes of duct: Ø 90mm and Ø 69mm
Scope of Use

Uniflex Plus is designed for use in apartments, townhouses, small buildings, and malls. It is particularly useful for ventilating buildings with restricted floor, wall, or ceiling spaces.

Plus, due to the easy click system, there is lower risk of a poor installation which might cause air or heating efficiency losses, meaning it is a good system for high performance homes and those targeting continuous ventilation solutions.

Several designs are available to suit various interior styles.

  • Ø 90mm is ideal for most applications requiring a high efficiency ducting system.
  • Ø 69mm is ideal for installations with more limited space.

Applications include:

  • In concrete
  • In the finishing layer/ screed
  • In a modular ceiling
  • In mid-floor installations
  • In the isolation layer
  • In plaster walls
  • In stone walls
Limitations on Use
  • On its own, Uniflex Plus is not a ventilation system — some type of fan will be needed to ventilate the space.
  • Not suitable for large commercial spaces in place of an HVAC system.
  • For Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR or HRV) applications, Uniflex Plus should be installed inside the thermal envelope or insulation layer for best performance. Insulation is not a requirement for continuous extract applications.

In-Service History

Uniflex Plus has only recently been launched in New Zealand, but it has a proven history of operating in the airtight European housing market.

Other Performance Attributes

Uniflex adjustable valves feature 26 different lockable positions for setting the air volume. Low turbulence airflows prevents the accumulation of dirt around the valve. Facias are capable of air supply and extraction up to 75m³/h.

Uniflex Plus is designed to prevent contamination in the system and to simplify any cleaning. There are several ways it accomplishes this:

  • The inside of the duct is treated with antistatic and antibacterial additives
  • The attachment of the valve collectors is outside the system, so screws cannot enter the system.
  • The round shape of the ducts and valve collectors which facilitate easier cleaning than squares
  • Optional sealing caps to prevent building materials or debris from entering pipes during installation
