Porter's Milk Paint is a traditional finish, first used in the 18th and 19th centuries on Shaker and country style furniture, doors, skirting boards and architraves. It is made from milk by-products mixed with powdered oxide pigment to produce subtle, mellow colours. Milk Paint has a rustic, chalky appearance that instantly softens and ages the look of new furniture.
Porter's Milk Paint is suitable for interior applications. Can be applied to most suitably prepared interior timber surfaces such as furniture, doors, skirting boards and architraves.
Apply by brush only.
Drying times: 2hrs touch dry. 12hrs between coats. Apply any sealers or waxes 72hrs after final coat.
Milk Paint is not suitable for floor surfaces. It is recommended to use Porter's Limeproof Undercoat Sealer to prepare surfaces for painting. As Milk Paint is a porous paint, it is recommended to seal final coat with either Porter's wax or Porter's All Purpose Clear Sealer.
Porter's Milk Paint is an authentic milk paint, produced in Australia.
Porter's Paints offer clients traditional and modern paint finishes that are water-based, durable and easy to apply.
