Thermoform profile doors are made using a robust vinyl film which is wrapped around the face and edges of a drawer or door panel and then bonded under heat and vacuum pressure.
This provides a seamless, hard‑wearing and moisture-resistant finish, without the need for edge tape. Thermoform doors and drawers are provided with a melamine back.
All thermoform profile doors can be supplied as a paint-ready option which can be finished in a paint colour of choice.
If doors are subjected to excessive heat from certain types of ovens and dishwashers on a prolonged basis, shrinkage of the edges may occur. To eliminate this potential shrinkage Dezignatek recommends as follows:
Never use the following on the doors: abrasive cleaners, Janola or similar, scourer pads, wire wool, sand paper, or solvents and thinners
While Dezignatek doors and panels are water resistant (not water proof), care should be taken to ensure excessive exposure to water, steam or extreme humidity is avoided.
Dezignatek operates from a state of the art production facility in East Tamaki with a high level of automation covering its CNC operations, sanding and robotic glue application prior to thermoforming. It also provides finished melamine, acrylic and Soft-Matt HPL doors with decors available from Prime Panels or Bestwood ranges.
New Zealand Panels Group offer a wide collection of decorative interior panels and benchtop surfaces through its Prime Panels and Bestwood brands, and thermoform and custom finishing via Dezignatek.
