Description

The Metalcraft Insulated ThermoPanel EPS is a stressed skin sandwich panel, comprised of pre-painted steel skins continuously laminated over a fire retardant Polystyrene (EPS) core. The EPS core is not fire rated.

ThermoPanel EPS can be used in horizontal or vertical applications and with a range of colour, joint and profile options, it can meet the functional and aesthetic requirements demanded by a variety of facilities such as sports centres, commercial premises, offices, warehouse and factories.

ThermoPanel EPS's range of colours, joints and profiles deliver a first class finish inside and out. The panels can be joined with a standard slip joint or a tongue and groove type joint. It allows for easy and rapid installation whilst providing greater strength in walls and a clean, smooth aesthetic look.

Scope of Use

They are fully finished internal/external panels manufactured from a core of expanded polystyrene (EPS) sandwiched between 0.59mm layers of Colorsteel®.  Panels are available in a variety of colours and in the following thicknesses (mm): 50, 75, 100,150, 200, 250, 300.

Metalcraft Insulated Panel Systems supplies Thermopanel and Thermospan Insulated Panels for use as load bearing and non-load bearing wall and roofing panels.

Limitations on Use

Location

In all wind zones up to and included extra high as defined in NZS3604:2011 or up to a specifically designed maximum wind pressure (ULS) of 2.5kPa.

All corrosion zones as defined in NZS3604:2011. › Where the system is to be used in a micro-climate (as defined in clauses 4.2.2, NZS3604:2011),

Metalcraft Insulated Panel Systems is to be consulted.

In new buildings where the relevant part of the building complies with the NZ Building Code or in existing buildings where the designer and installer have assured themselves that the relevant part of the building is adequate for the intended building work.

  • Where the panels are to be located within 1m of a relevant boundary the system may only be used as a non-load bearing external wall cladding system.
  • Where fire resistance rating (FRR) is required, specific design is required.
  • A maximum building height of 10m.
  • Where the panels are to be used as roof panels, a minimum roof pitch of 3°.
  • In conjunction with a concrete, steel or timber sub-floor and flooring structure (where panels are to be load bearing).
  • In conjunction with steel or timber structural framing and concrete, steel or timber sub-floor and flooring structure (non-load bearing). Joinery that complies with NZS4211:2008.

All building uses,

  • Where material group 2 or more is required.
  • Colorsteel® CP-Antibacterial must be specified where the internal face must comply with G3.3.2(a).
