IBS High-Density Hardboard
Description

IBS high-density hardboard is an impact and indent resistant, high-density hardboard, manufactured from FSC certified eucalyptus using wood fibres, heat, water and pressure. It is manufactured to have a Super E0 formaldehyde emission rating and has no added chemicals or resins. IBS high-density hardboard is available in four variations (standard, pegboard, tempered and flooring underlay).

Sizes

Standard Hardboard:

  • 3.2mm — 2400 x 1200mm
  • 4.8mm —2400 x 1200mm
  • 6.4mm — 2440 x 1220mm

Tempered Hardboard:

  • 4.8mm — 2440 x 1220mm

Pegboard:

  • Raw 4.8mm — 2440 x 1220mm
  • White 4.8mm — 2440 x 1220mm
  • White 4.8mm — 1200 x 1200mm
  • White 4.8mm — 1200 x 600mm

Underlay:

  • Underlay 5.0mm — 1220x915mm

Scope of Use
  • In conjunction with a substrate that complies with the NZ Building Code or for an existing building, where it is suitable for the intended building work.
  • For internal use in protected areas
  • For all uses where a high quality, paintable face finish is required
  • As a flooring underlay
Limitations on Use
  • The substrate must allow fixing in accordance with the current IBS High-Density Installation and Maintenance Guide
  • IBS High-Density Hardboard must not be subject to sustained wetting or high humidity conditions
  • IBS High-Density Hardboard must not be used as a structural element, although the product is designed to be self-supporting
  • For flooring use, only the flooring variation of IBS High-Density Hardboard may be used

If designed, used, installed & maintained in accordance with the scope, this product will meet the following provisions of the NZBC.

  • B2 Durability: B2.3.1(c)
