AcoustaMat Acoustic Underlay
Description

AcoustaMat™ is an innovative product that uses specially engineered recycled rubber underlays to meet the acoustical requirements of all common construction and installation methods. It can be used as excellent, eco-friendly and cost-effective underlay to timbers, ceramic tiles, vinyl flooring, carpets or floor lamination.

For high-rise units, multi-storey townhouses and homes. Suitable for new and old buildings requiring impact sound insulation for the installation of timber, laminate, carpet, plank vinyl/vinyl over Masonite or ceramic floors. Can be installed on timber and concrete sub-bases.

  • Rubber is an excellent material for noise reduction and vibration control due to its high density, regular consistency and elasticity. These physical characteristics aid in reducing sound transfer by evenly absorbing sound across the material.

Limitations on Use

Can be used in wet areas when installed in conjunction with a suitable waterproof membrane system.

Statement of Building Code Compliance
  • AcoustaMat has been individually tested at the CSIRO Laboratory in Melbourne in accordance with the requirements of ISO 140-8 – Part 8: "Measurement for the reduction in transmitted impact noise by floor coverings on a standard floor."
  • AcoustaMat™ complies with ISO 140-6 "Measurement of sound insulation in buildings and building elements – Part 6: Laboratory measurement of sound insulation of floors"

All products were tested at the CSIRO which employed a 150mm concrete slab at the time of testing.

In-Service History

Acoustamat is manufactured by A1 Rubber who are lessening the impact on the environment, reducing landfill and producing economically responsible products. Using their state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment with stripped rubber from old tyres to form new rubber flooring products.

With the latest in world-class recycled rubber manufacturing technology, A1 Rubber converts over 7500 tonnes of recycled tyre rubber into various innovative flooring products per annum.
