A project of this calibre demanded uncompromising quality, especially in regards to sound insulation. Plumbing Contractor Cambridge Plumbing utilised REHAU pipes extensively throughout the project from RAUTITAN gas to RAUTITAN platinum and the RAUPIANO PLUS Acoustic Drainage System — all wastewater stacks and internal suspended downpipes used were REHAU.

RAUPIANO PLUS pipes and fittings improve sound insulation performance through innovative three-layer pipes and bend fittings with optimised mass concentration to further reduce air-borne noise transmission. This makes them an ideal solution for multi unit projects like Church Hill Street.

While the system has been extensively tested by AECOM in Australia, (who approved RAUPIANO as a suitable alternative to lagged PVC pipe), Cambridge Plumbing Director Brett Marshall wanted to ensure that RAUPIANO delivered the high level of acoustic performance required for the project and engaged an independent acoustic consultant to perform tests. Satisfied with the results, Cambridge Plumbing specified the system for Church Hill and is now using RAUPIANO PLUS exclusively on all high end multi story projects.

Brett noted that a major additional benefit of using the RAUPIANO system is that lagging the pipework is now not necessary, meaning less trades on site, significantly reducing installation time.
