When it came to renovating Northland School in Wellington, the choice of ALLTAC Sirius Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (TGSI) proved to be a game-changer. The installation of a 900 x 1200mm plate took 15 minutes, from unpacking to fully installed, compared to the industry standard of approximately 2.5 hours for traditional TGSI dots to cover the same size area.

For footpaths, Safety Yellow is universally accepted and meets the luminance contrast requirements outlined in AS/NZS 1428.4.1:2009. However, by utilising ALLTAC Sirius sheets in Platinum you can achieve even higher luminance contrast of up to 55%. This increase is made possible by their LVR (Light Reflectance Value) of 72.00, when installed against a dark concrete background with an estimated highest LRV of 20. If the concrete has an LRV of only 10, the luminance contrast would be even greater, which makes it easier to pick up for the visually impaired, and therefore a safer system for those they designed to protect and support.
