Product Features, Scope and Performance Data Added

EBOSS has worked with MBIE and councils to format information that illustrates where your product can be used and how it performs to the requirements of The Building Code. As such, new product assurance text fields have been added to products (Feb 2015). These aim to provide specifiers and users of EBOSS with a transparent overview of a product's applicability, speeding up the consents process and helping suppliers comply with mandatory obligations under Section 14G of The Building Act.

The new fields include:

Features Scope Performance
Bullet point key features Scope of use statement Compliance statement
Limitations of use Product in-service history
    Other performance attributes

You can add these fields when adding/editing a product in the Supplier Admin. For a full list of product fields and their explanations view the Creating and Managing Products page in the Supplier Handbook.

Further detail

Fields currently do not display when no data entered. This is to give suppliers some leeway to enter information. However in the future these fields may display a message like "There is no compliance information available on this product".

Affected areas
