Description

Ideal for fastening timber or composite decking boards to joists made of timber, steel or aluminium, the SPAX decking screw will pull the deck down tightly while also allowing the timber to expand and contract without splitting or leaving the screw head proud.

The unique features of the screw are designed for ease of installation, extended durability and attractive appearance.

Key Features
  • Fixing thread under the head to lock the decking board in place while still allowing the timber to expand during wet weather and shrink during hot dry weather without the deck moving or the screw head protruding
  • Small cylinder head for attractive appearance
  • Cut point for easy guidance
  • Serrated thread to cut through the timber, reducing any chance of splitting and reducing the torque required during installation
  • T-Star Plus recess for easy driving of the screw and maximum torque transfer
  • Available in grade 304 and grade 316 stainless steel as well as a decorative antique finish
  • Large version available for boardwalks

Limitations on Use

The full SPAX system, including SPAX air spacers and step-drill bit must be used with steel and aluminium joists.

  • SPAX products are manufactured in Germany and comply with the latest European requirements but have also been tested in local New Zealand timbers
  • Timber connection design can be performed according to either European Technical Assessments or to NZS 3603
