Resene Pre-Coated Steel Primer

Description

Resene Pre-Coated Steel Primer is a single pack adhesion primer for application to new factory coated roofing and cladding to ready it for topcoating with Resene waterborne paints. Can also be used as an anti-corrosive primer for new or weathered Zincalume and galvanising where a solventborne cool primer is required to maximise heat reflection when topcoating with Resene CoolColours.

Key Features

May be applied over a wide range of temperatures (10-30°C).
Excellent adhesion to factory coated steel cladding/roofing.
May be overcoated with most roof paint systems, such as Resene Summit Roof (see Data Sheet D315) and Resene Mica Bond (see Data Sheet RA71), or Resene waterborne exterior paints, such as Resene Hi-Glo (see Data Sheet D31), Resene Sonyx 101 (see Data Sheet D30), or Resene Lumbersider (see Data Sheet D34), any time over a period of three months.
May be used on roofs that are to be used for the collection of drinking water when topcoated.
Suitable for use over lightly rusted factory coated steel.

Scope of Use

Typical uses: Factory coated steel cladding/roofing such as COLORBOND®, COLORCOTE®, COLORSTEEL®, and other pre-coated stee, lHorizontal and vertical applications, including roofs, walls and fences.

Limitations on Use

Allow extra drying time when used under high build coatings, such as high build chlorinated rubber.
Areas showing significant red rusting will require an additional priming system.
