IBuilt's JJ-IJoist offer superior value, strength and reliability and are perfect for flooring or roofing applications. JJ-IJoist is manufactured from Scots pine (top and bottom flanges) and oriented strand board (webs), which are bonded together with an exterior grade Purbond adhesive. After manufacture, the beams are boron-treated with Koppers FramePro for use in hazard class H1.2 applications.
They are available in two sizes, 240x72mm and 300x72mm.

The span tables in this design guide were determined in accordance with NZS 3603:1993 Timber Structures Standard which is an Acceptable Solution to the New Zealand Building Code Clause B1 Structure.
Guidance has also been taken from AS 1684.1:1999, Residential timber framed construction in the preparation of this guide and complies with NZS 3604:2011 Timber Framed Buildings which is an Acceptable Solution to NZBC Clause B1 Structure.
The requirements set out in the New Zealand Building Code will be achieved when floor joists and rafter framing components are installed in accordance with the design guide. This design guide has been prepared and designed within the requirements of the following standards:
IBuilt JJ-IJoists are pressure-treated with Koppers FramePro™ preservative (boron) treatment. Boron-treated joists are limited to internal, dry protected areas where moisture levels are maintained below the requirements specified in NZS3602:2003, i.e. in hazard class H1.2 applications only. Buildings must remain weather-tight and structural framing members must be protected from internal and external moisture exposure.
