The ARDEX Torch-Applied Tanking System is used as single or multi-layered membranes in horizontal or vertical applications for waterproofing for below ground tanking. They are primarily applied to the outside of a sub-structure of a building, such as a foundation or basement to resist hydrostatic water pressure and prevent water ingress.

Other forms of tanking where these products can be used include:

• underfloor slabs
• behind masonry walls
• the lining of substrates of in situ or precast concrete
• retaining walls
• lift shafts
• tunnels
• living roofs

• The membranes must be designed and installed in accordance with the ARDEX technical literature 'ARDEX Bituminous Membranes' March 2012.
• The membranes must be installed by ARDEX New Zealand Limited approved applicators
• ARDEX WPM 195 must be protected from UV
• ARDEX New Zealand Ltd will notify AsureQuality Ltd in accordance with Regulation 15 of the Building (Product Certification) Regulations 2008

• Clause B1 STRUCTURE: Performance B1.3.1.
• Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1 (a) not less than 50 years.
• Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1. ARDEX WPM 195 meets this requirement and will not present a health hazard to people

• Complies with BS EN 13969:2004 — Flexible sheets for waterproofing. Bitumen damp proof sheets including bitumen basement tanking sheets
• European CE certification — GB06/69203 for Below Ground Tanking
• CodeMark Certification (No. CM70013)
