ARDEX External Tiling System
Description

ARDEX External Tiling System is suitable for external under-tile applications.

  • Waterproofing: ARDEX WPM 1000
  • Matting: ARDEX UD 150 + ARDEX UD 158
  • Tile Adhesive: ARDEX X 18
  • Tile Grout: ARDEX FG 8
  • Waterproofing Adhesive ARDEX WA 98

ARDEX WPM 1000 is a fleece-lined waterproofing sheet membrane specially formulated for the direct adhesion of tiled systems or for other non-exposed use. ARDEX WPM 1000 is heat-welded at laps and seams to create a superior bond, consistent gauge and allow a quick installation.

ARDEX UD 150 is an unbonded, passive capillary drainage system for use under an external tiled surface. Acting as a drainage channel underneath the tiled surface, ARDEX UD 150 speeds up the drying process after rainfall and helps reduce the build up of efflorescence.

BAL Micromax2 is a rapid-setting, highly flexible, water/frost-resistant cementitious tile grout with built-in Microban antimicrobial protection for walls and floors:

  • Sets in 2-3 hours (at 20°C): enables faster completion
  • Efflorescence-free formulation: minimises risk of patchy discolouration. Water/frost-resistant. Built-in admixture for increased flexibility and enhanced durability. Ensures clean, even finish for grout joints.

Scope of Use

ARDEX WPM 1000:

  • Specifically designed to be used as an external waterproofing membrane for directly adhered tiled surfaces or for other non-exposed use
  • Suitable for use with most ARDEX tile adhesives in domestic and commercial locations over most common substrates
  • An approved waterproofing membrane for use under ARDEX undertile drainage systems such as ARDEX UD 150
Limitations on Use

The membranes must be installed by trained applicators, approved by ARDEX New Zealand Limited.

ARDEX WPM 1000 is not suitable as a trafficable surface nor as an exposed membrane. If ARDEX WPM 1000 is needed to be left exposed before tiling commences, ensure that care is taken to protect from general traffic and any source of damage
