To ensure that pool fencing complies it should be manufactured and installed to NZS 8500:2006 standards and is the standard used by territorial authorities. Ideally a producer statement should be provided, even though it is not a requirement at this stage, as it provides councils with documentation certifying that the design and testing processes make the fencing compliant.
Juralco's Swimming Pool Fencing Producer Statements
With the NZS 8500:2006 (Safety Barriers and Fences Around Swimming Pools, Spas and Hot Tubs) due to become the standard for compliance, Juralco Aluminium Building Products has taken the initiative to ensure that all contemporary pool fencing they sell conforms to that new standard and can supply a producer statement.
As Juralco is probably the only pool fencing supplier who currently can supply a producer statement, although it is not a requirement at this stage, it provides an additional layer of reassurance for the pool owner that the fencing and gates will conform and pass territorial authority inspections when installed to the requirements as listed in the Juralco Contemporary Fencing Manual.
