Lily Richards recently renovated her 1971 concrete brick unit in Devonport. The existing tired carpet needed to be replaced with something that complemented the ply that covered the walls in the kids bedroom and the opaque perspex hallway.
"I didn't want to miss the chance to do something unusual and colourful," says Lily. "I also wanted to choose something that spoke to the building's 1970's origin, but that wasn't so referential as to not be contemporary. I looked far and wide for interesting flooring options — with a focus on vinyl because I knew that would be where I'd find colour."
"I fell in love with Polyflor's Mint Crisp Pearlazzo, discovered it suited the materials we'd picked and that's how we ended up with a commercial product in a residential building," she explains.
Available in a palette of 18 contemporary colours, ranging from pale neutrals through to more intense shades, Polyflor's Pearlazzo PUR features a unique multi-flake decoration, giving it a distinct appeal.
As with all homogeneous PUR ranges, Polyflor's Pearlazzo PUR features a high quality, cross-linked polyurethane reinforcement, UV cured to provide a low-cost polish-free maintenance regime for the lifetime of the flooring. Ideally suited for heavy traffic areas, Polyflor's Pearlazzo PUR is recommended for use throughout commercial interiors, healthcare and education facilities, as well as retail outlets.
Within the new BRE Global rating scheme, homogeneous vinyl flooring achieves a generic BRE Global A+ rating for contract applications. Polyflor's Pearlazzo PUR is 100% recyclable and contains 25% recycled material. The PUR feature also significantly reduces chemical usage and reduces water usage by up to 55% compared to traditional maintenance products.
The VOC emissions on Pearlazzo PUR are below the very strictly set, acceptable levels of the AgBB test method, showing no negative contribution to indoor air quality.
