BMS utilises reclaimed rubber to produce the cradles, allowing Batten and Cradle to provide an innovative new way to lay floors in New Zealand.
Used extensively throughout the UK and Europe, Batten and Cradle is introducing this system for “easy to install” flooring to New Zealand. The benefits, beyond its installation simplicity, include greater access for maintenance, noise reduction, acoustic qualities and compatibility with any overlay on top of the bearers (decking, plywood, fibre-cement board, ceramic tiles etc).
Additionally, the cradle can be successfully installed over waterproof membranes without any fixings to the substrate. Rubber on the substrate creates the void for better airflow and promotes superior drainage to help dry out any retained moisture.
The black acoustic cradle for indoor use is engineered to comply with the building code, and has tested with superior results that exceeded all expectations. With the additional comfort, total underfloor access and the ability to self level, a great deal of time and money can be saved. Maintaining these properties, the brown cradle is a very similar product, yet facilitates external use.
Batten and Cradle has outfitted the Auckland University dance and drama floor, a Manurewa retirement village, a Freemans Bay recording studio (Serato Recording studio) and various other areas.
