Masons Offer Interlocking Wall Panel and Plaster System

ThermalCrete, Masons' interlocking wall panel and plaster system is in demand by builders. The superior performance during and after installation makes it a preferable plaster cladding system.

ThermalCrete was also the product of choice for Dan Gujer from Coastal Elite Builders when it came to building his own home. "I first saw the ThermalCrete panels at a trade breakfast and really liked the interlocking system," says Dan. "It has good thermal and sound qualities which was important because my section is on a main road with sometimes heavy traffic, so sound reduction is a key."

Dan's building site is situated in a rural setting in the Hamilton region. He has been building homes for 10 years with his company, Coastal Elite Builders, and worked as a builder from a young age. "We always wanted a plastered look but weren't happy with what I had used before," he explains. "Previously I have used AAC panels, but this panel product is better. It has very little wastage and the price was good and worked within our budget."

Hydro Flashing Tape is a self adhesive flashing tape to seal around windows, doors, and other joinery openings as a secondary defence against water penetration.

Masons Hydro Flashing Tape and Masons Corner Guard must be installed in accordance with these instructions. Ensure the Hydro Tape completely covers the joinery opening.
To ensure maximum adhesion of the tape, make sure the substrate surface is clean, dry and free from any dust or other contaminants. Flaps are folded into the opening and secured.
The building wrap is installed as shown to the exterior face of the frame. At window and door openings it is cut on a 45˚ angle away from each corner, then the flaps are folded into the opening and secured.
Hydro Flashing Tape must not be stretched. When joining 2 sections of tape, overlap by 100mm or more.

Note: 150mm wide tape is used for 100mm wide window or door framing. 200mm wide tape is used for 140mm - 150mm wide revels.

Masons Thermalcrete HYDRO Flashing Tape has been evaluated by Certmark as meeting the following provisions of the NZ Building Code:

B2 Durability: B2.3.1(a) - not less than 50 years; and B2.3.2
E2 External Moisture: E2.3.2
F2 Hazardous Building Materials: F2.3.1

Dry Fix™ is a thick Polyethylene Damp-course and Concealed Flashing barrier of impervious material, built in to prevent moisture movement to any part of a building requiring protection.

Used in the building industry to avoid moisture. It provides a complete and permanent moisture barrier in the protection against water damage to buildings through the walls and brickwork.

Used around brick vents, timber framing, windows and door flashings.

Approved for use for separating timber, wood-based products and metal from concrete, masonry or brick; and, As a moisture barrier and flashing in masonry veneer constructed in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS2 and NZS 4229

Clause B2 — Durability: The MASONS DRY FIX DPCs when used in accordance with this Appraisal will meet Performance B2.3.1(b) (15 years), B2.3.1 (c) (5 years) of the New Zealand Building Code.
Clause E2 — External Moisture: The MASONS DRY FIX DPCs when used in accordance with this Appraisal will meet Performance requirement of E2.3.2 of the New Zealand Building Code.
Clause F2 — Hazardous Building Materials: The product contains no hazardous materials complying with clause F2.3.1 of the Building Code
