Asona Continues to Bring Light to NZ Schools

Asona provided a customised acoustic ceiling and wall lining solution to maximise the natural light of the Hobsonville Point Primary and Secondary schools.  They feature Triton 25, NRC 0.95 ceiling planks in made to measure lengths to fit between the sky lights.

This approach gave a clean linear look at a lower cost compared to conventional 1200 x 600 panels and allowed for more skylights to be incorporated into the building’s design and thus conveyed a greater amount of natural light into the large open teaching areas and laneways whilst still controlling the reverberation and background noise levels.

Asona’s Triton 40 panels with matt white Sonatex finish were used to line the upper walls to the Teachers Stations as customized 2400 x 1000mm wall panels with wrapped edges and butt joined together. The white walls also helped reflect natural light from the skylights back into the teaching areas.

All of Asona’s products used on the large build have the highest group fire rating of 1S, low VOCs, high in acoustic performance and contain 80% recycled content combined with a 'recycle and renew 'programme for long-term sustainability.
