Description

The 180 Linear Opening Roof is all about straight lines. Flat louvre blades, bold, angular lines and sharp, clean edges perfectly compliment the look of today's modern architecture. Blades open and close 180 degrees.

  • Can be fitted into a frame and posts made of Aluminium, timber, steel or concrete or be fixed directly into a prepared opening in a roof structure. Frame and posts other than Aluminium by others
  • Engineered to meet relevant AS/NZS standards
  • All extrusions manufactured in an ISO quality assured environment to AS1866 & AS3902 standards
  • Plastic injected components (motorised and manual) are UV stabilised
  • Drive axles(motorised and manual) and all fixings are marine grade 316 stainless steel
  • Can be powdercoated, anodised or woodgrain finished to large range of colours
  • Full site measure, design, shop drawing(if required) and installation service provided
  • All louvre panels are custom made

Scope of Use
  • Used as a weather resistant cover over decks/ patios, outdoor restaurants/ bars, outdoor areas, school play areas, smoking areas, pool/spa covers
  • Suitable for coastal, inland, snow, residential, commercial installation
  • Opening Roofs are generally installed horizontally overhead. Can be installed on an angle. Can be an irregular shape (refer Louvretec design office) and can be motorized or manually adjustable using the Louvretec Spiral Pivot system
  • The Spiral pivot system allows for 180° rotation of the louvres
  • Louvre/Beam/Post spans, as per tables 1 and 2, section 12 of the Louvretec Product Catalogue, are certified by Markplan Consulting Limited (Consulting Structural Engineers) and meets the requirements of AS/NZS 1170:2011, NZS3604:2011, AS/NZ 1664:1997
Limitations on Use
  • Louvre/Opening Roof spans are restricted by wind zone. Refer relevant table in Louvretec Product catalogue
  • Minimum depth of frame is required. Refer Louvretec design office
  • Opening Roofs cannot be used as a weather proofing solution to a building
  • Supporting structures over 10m high may require specific engineering

In-Service History

The Louvretec 180 Linear Opening Roof has been part of the Louvretec range since 1999 being used in residential and commercial applications in New Zealand. Off shore it has been used in Australia and many other countries including the Netherlands, Tahiti, Fiji, Hong Kong and the United States(California).

The Louvretec Spiral Pivot system for motorised and manual applications was introduced in 2003 and is used in most Louvretec motorised / manual systems.
