Terrazzo-Look Porcelain a Key Feature at New Plymouth Airport

Construction work in 2020 doubled the size of the previous New Plymouth Airport building and has a more open aspect with glazed walls and fewer internal obstructions.

The new terminal is a unique and beautiful building that came together through the collaboration of Puketapu Hāpu, Papa Rererangi I Puketapu, Beca Architects and Cleland’s Construction.

Featured extensively throughout the concourse is the exclusive R10-rated Italian VENEZIA range from Tile Warehouse in Bianco, Grigio, and Nero in 600 x 600mm. Terrazzo-look has been trending across Europe and the rest of the world for some time now and lends itself perfectly to this expansive public space.

A special formulation of Terrazzo red was also commissioned for the installation of the red 'whale carving design', an original artwork feature on the concourse flooring space.
