Metrotile's lightweight roofing systems are based on the principle of utilising only the best raw materials. Natural New Zealand stone granules are the foundation of long term durability, stability and colour retention on all its textured roofs. The roofs are installed in over 80 countries in the most extreme weather conditions — from the snowy regions of Europe to the harsh temperatures in Africa to the hurricane prone countries of the Caribbean.
Architecturally Designed and Engineered
Extensive research and development in the design process ensures every Metrotile product is manufactured in New Zealand to the highest quality, with exceptional durability and strength. The authentically designed profiles and various colours give options to match traditional and modern architectural styles.
For example, the Metrotile Shingle profile captures the subtle look and charm of low-profile traditional shingles. The Shingle also comes in a choice of natural weathered tones to recreate the visual appeal of timber, asphalt or fired-clay shingles. When re-roofing, a Metrotile roof allows users to improve the look and value of their home in a matter of days.
Cost Competitive
A Metrotile roof is much lighter than traditional concrete or clay tiles and does not need the structural support that traditional roofs require. For example, the Metrotile Shake texture profile is only 6.30kg per tile. The framing can also be lighter, resulting in easier handling and savings in framing costs.
All products (tiles and flashings) arrive to site in one delivery of approximately 2m³ per 250m² roof, ensuring a cost effective roof for transportation and a low carbon footprint.
Easy and Quick to Install
The interlocking and modular roofing systems are much easier to handle than other roofing materials, such as long-run steel roofing and concrete tiles. For example, the Metrotile Royal profile features a size of 1.34 x 0.42m, allowing the roof to be safely and quickly installed in all weather conditions, and can result in having scaffolding removed earlier (and money well saved).
Extra High Wind
Each metal tile is horizontally fixed into battens, providing integrity to the entire roof and eliminating wind uplift issues that can affect other roofing materials.
50 Year Warranty
Metrotile roofs are designed to protect and come with a 50-year pro-rata weatherproof warranty, giving peace of mind to homeowners and design professionals.
