Specifiers have told us that getting good CAD files from a supplier can increase the likelihood of specification. Anything suppliers can do to save specifiers time and make their life easier is greatly appreciated — especially for small to mid sized practices who are already stretched.
This means having BIM objects and families (with the right level of detail), easily accessible sections and drawings that are well resolved and easy to drop into plans.
Critically, if your detail is used in a plan, it becomes the base for specification, and might mean that builders simply go with the brands drawn rather than push for an alternate product.
Suppliers need to be thinking about the practices they're targeting, and the files types (and level of detail) they’ll need.
