Specifiers tell us that in-practice training and resources are their number one means of keeping up-to-date with construction methods and information.
We know from talking to product suppliers that it's a struggle to get in front of specifiers and into a practice at the best of times, so how can you achieve this?
The first step is making sure you’re helping the practice maintain their own digital library. Seven in ten specifiers rely on their in-house digital library — are you making sure they have the most up-to-date technical information and samples?
Often there is a gatekeeper, and at times, you may need to present alongside other suppliers to give a multi-faceted training session and entice more attendees from the practice.
Getting face time with specifiers is about making presentations relevant to what they’re working on, for example, linking a product presentation to a current project, or to a recent Building Code change. Specifiers don’t want to spend time hearing about products and information that may not be relevant for another 6 months, or something that isn’t relevant to their work at all.
