With an engineering background and experience in the building trade, CS FOR DOORS founder Phil Kenny first came across cavity sliders while working on building sites in Sydney. Phil was initially impressed by the concept, instantly recognising the practical advantages cavity sliders had over conventional hinged doors and surface sliders, in particular their space saving qualities. However, these early experiences were tinged with frustration. Most of the cavity sliders Phil had installed were poorly designed and needed modifying before they could be relied upon to work effectively.

So in 1986, after coming up with his own cavity slider design, Phil decided to take a gamble and make a go of designing and manufacturing quality cavity sliding door systems for a living. From these humble beginnings as a husband and wife team, CS FOR DOORS has grown into a highly regarded manufacturer of innovative, high-quality door systems.

The brief for that first cavity slider was simple: “To create a high-quality cavity slider that was reliable and ran very smoothly”. This original design became the template from which subsequent improvements were made and product variations born. It was also to become the industry benchmark.

While CS FOR DOORS began solely as a manufacturer of cavity sliders and their CS Cavity Sliders division continues to offer the largest, most innovative range of cavity sliders on the market, their product range has evolved to include a complete range of related sliding door products, made locally to your specification.

From the early days, when it was just Phil in his garage, CS FOR DOORS now employs over 100 staff. They have a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and administration building in Auckland and branches throughout New Zealand, Australia and the United States.
