GB Masonry Split Face Masonry Veneer Bricks
Description

GB Masonry Split Face Masonry Veneer Bricks are available in a range of sizes and configurations and are manufactured to AS/NZS 4455.1 2008. They are intended to be used as either brick veneer cladding systems of residential and commercial buildings as well as use as internal feature walls.

Scope of Use

GB Masonry Veneer Bricks are intended to be used as either brick veneer cladding systems of residential and commercial buildings as well as use as internal feature walls.

For buildings which are:

  • Within the scope of E2/AS1 (Amendment 9)
  • Within the scope of section 1.1.2 (o) of NZS 3604:2011
Limitations on Use
  • Foundation systems supporting the veneer (including any internal feature walls) must consist of concrete slab-on-ground systems complying with either the requirements of NZS 3604:2011 or NZS 4229:2013 (both as modified by B1/AS1)
  • Internal walls supporting internal feature walls shall be specifically engineered to ensure that they can carry the loads by the veneer system or alternatively designed and built to the same criteria used for an external wall for the same building
  • The Veneer systems must be designed and installed in accordance with the requirements of E2/ AS1 section 9.2.
  • Internal feature walls shall have the same details (e.g. spacing, embedment and corrosion resistance) for brick ties as for external use on the same building. Other details set out in E2/ AS1 are not required except for the control joint requirements
  • Mortar, materials (cement, sand and mixtures) shall comply with NZS 4210:2001

The products will, if installed in accordance with the conditions and limitations listed, will comply with or contribute to compliance with the following clauses of the New Zealand Building Code:

  • Structure B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B 1.3.3 (a, b, f, h, j q), B 1.3.4
  • Durability B2.3.1 (a)
  • External Moisture E2.3.2, E2.3.7
  • Hazardous Building Materials F2.3.1

  • Unconfined Characteristic Compressive Strength is > 15 MPa

Maintenance Information

Inspect and wash exterior surfaces to remove dirt and mould at least once in a year.
